Joanne Perry, PhD
Director of Orthopedic & Sport Psychology
Joanne Perry, PhD is a licensed psychologist and the Director of Orthopedic & Sport Psychology at Novant Health, specializing in athlete mental health and mental performance. She provides individual and team services, along with expert consultation. With a rich background in building sport psychology programs for the NFL, NBA, Olympic Teams, and NASCAR, Joanne currently serves as the Team Psychologist for the Carolina Panthers, USA Field Hockey, and Trackhouse Racing. She oversees all sport psychology programs at the United States Performance Center, which supports multiple U.S. Olympic teams. Additionally, Joanne consults for NFL Total Wellness, the league's mental wellness program. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and both her Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University, completing her pre-doctoral internship at Northwestern University. An accomplished author, Joanne focuses on applied research and has published extensively on various topics within sport psychology.
